Stamps Across East Asia
Stamp collecting is woven into the travel culture of East Asia. In Japan, eki-stamps (้ง ในใฟใณใ) have been placed in train stations since the 1940s โ each one a hand-crafted snapshot of local identity. Taiwan extended the tradition to its MRT and tourist sites. Korea has maintained physical stamps in KORAIL stations since 1999, and runs dedicated stamp tours at heritage sites and national parks.
Inkstamp Map brings all three countries together in a single, searchable map โ so you can plan multi-country trips or deep-dive into a single region.
Japan

Collecting Tips
Get a stamp book
Available at 100-yen shops in Japan, convenience stores in Taiwan, or ask at KORAIL stations in Korea. Some collectors swear by washi tape borders.
Plan smart routes
Group stamps by rail line in Japan, MRT line in Taiwan, or by KORAIL line in Korea โ one ticket can cover many stamps.
Document the moment
Photograph stamp + surroundings. The context tells the story as much as the ink does.
Respect local rules
Stamp only where ink is available. Support local businesses near each stop. Ask station staff if unsure โ they love the enthusiasm.
